Envelope Budget uses the cash-envelope method: you split your income into "envelopes" (categories), assign money to each, and track your spending against them. Add your first envelope from the Envelopes tab, then log expenses to see your remaining balances update in real time.
Is my data private? Yes. Your budgets, transactions, and settings are stored locally on your device. They never leave your device unless you explicitly use Backup & Restore. See our Privacy Policy.
Does the app connect to my bank? No. Envelope Budget does not link to any bank or financial institution and never asks for bank credentials.
How do I try the app with sample data? On a fresh install you can enable demo mode to explore the app with example envelopes and transactions, then turn it off to start fresh.
How do I back up or move my data? Use the Backup & Restore option in Settings to export your data and restore it on another device.
